About

Valentina Moar is choreographer, dancer and performer and creates works for dance, theater, film, exhibitions and interactive dance.


Based in Graz, UNESCO city of Design and Cultural Capital of Europe 2003, she creates more than 20 dance pieces, 3 dance films and several performances in the cities most relevant artistic places and events. In her recent series ‚tanz.digital‘ she intensively explores interactive dance and collaborates with the multimedia interaction designer Paolo Scoppola.


She is artistic director and foundress of the Dance On Screen FilmFestival Graz, the first and only dance film festival in Austria (EU).

As a dance film curator she programs and initiates dance film screenings in Europe, eg. at Ultra Screendance Festival (IT), Screendance Landscapes Symposium Venice (IT), International Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival Stuttgart (DE), Brindisi Performing Arts Festival (IT), Teatro San Materno (CH), Tanzhaven Festival Linz (AT) and Tanz Karlsruhe Festival (DE).

She works with companies, universities and institutions throughout Europe, including Opernhaus Zürich (CH), International Dance Exposure at Suzanne Dellal Centre Tel Aviv (IS), Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (DE), Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics IEM Graz (AT), Conservatorio Tartini di Trieste (IT), University of Applied Sciences Kamp-Lintfort (DE), Attakalari Centre for Movement Art Bangalore (IN).

She performes pieces of Benoît Lachambre, Ismael Ivo, Avi Kaiser, Roberto Castello, Abbondanza/ Bertoni among others, and is a solo performer in music videos by Italian rock star Vasco Rossi.
